The quality control department
This is one of the most important departments in the company. The experienced specialists - tea and coffee tasters - test each shipment of tea and coffee before it reaches the company production facilities. The company purchases only tea and coffee conforming to the international standards of quality.
At the production stage the quality control experts continue to monitor the product quality ensuring that all technological norms and requirements are met. By the way, these quality standards are stricter in Russia than in India, Brazil and Ceylon.
Before tea and coffee in high-quality packs leave the factory the product consignments are finally tested by the managers of the quality control department who cup the beverage prepared from the randomly chosen finished consumer products. If there is a slightest doubt that the coffee or tea product corresponds to the highest standards set for the particular brand the whole lot is not shipped to the retail.
Tea production
How tea produced? First of all it is cleaned - the complex multilevel sorting and purifying system developed by Orimi Trade guarantees that only selected tea leaves of certain standards make their way to the consumer cup.
Afterwards the tea is blended or mixed. This is done to create the tea with the best balance of flavour, aroma, brew colour and strength. Moreover, the tea crop quality changes from year to year and in order to keep the stability of the flavour the producers have to mix several - sometimes up to ten - tea grades from different plantations and harvested at different times of the year.
All these operations are fully automated. The "smart" machines perform with precision and closely monitor every operation and the whole production process. Using modern equipment installed at its factory Orimi Trade can promptly react to the changes in the consumer demand, regularly expand its product line and guarantee to the consumers excellent quality of tea - and first of all its freshness.
Freshness of tea
The freshness of tea produced by Orimi Trade is based on two factors. First of all the company has the opportunity to buy the best teas on the world market at the most advantageous prices - this comes as direct consequence of the production scale and excellent reputation of Orimi Trade: the best suppliers compete for the right to deliver tea to the company. Second, the processing of tea at our factory and its packaging are designed to preserve all the magic of tea granted to it by the nature itself.
So, what threatens tea? It is well known that moisture and exposure to air flows can spoil tea literally within several days. This problem is especially acute for Russia given that from Kaliningrad (the most Western point of Russia) to Kuril Islands (the most Eastern point) the country spans eleven time zones and delivery of tea from the factory to the consumer table requires certain time.
However, opening a pack of tea produced by Orimi Trade you may be absolutely sure in its freshness that is guaranteed by the reliable packaging. Inside a tin or a carton pack the tea is packed in sealed foil bags that protect tea from the contact with ambient air. For the carton packs the company uses one more protection level - the transparent film cover that is put over the consumer pack.
Production of Coffee
The industrial processing of coffee includes the following operations - roasting, blending (i.e. mixing several coffee grades for obtaining the desirable flavour), grinding and packing.
The flavour and aroma of the brewed coffee are influenced by each of the above-mentioned production operations - under-roasted coffee can turn too acid, over-roasted - too bitter, too finely or coarsely ground coffee may produce unpredictable taste. It should also be taken into account that each coffee grade requires individual roasting conditions. Sometimes the temperature variation of only 2-3 centigrade may spoil the quality of the roasted coffee. However, such unexpected changes in production technology are eliminated completely at Orimi Trade factory as all processes are managed by electronics. It goes without saying that there is an experienced specialist supervising coffee roasting all the time but the complete control over the process of roasting is performed by the computer. Specialists maintain that the combination of "smart" equipment and experienced human mind produces excellent results - coffee offered by Orimi Trade is invariably characterised by full aroma and pleasant flavour - appropriate roasting conditions and grinding greatly contribute to the high quality of the coffee products. Packaging also plays a very important role in maintaining high quality of coffee as it keeps coffee fresh.
Coffee freshness
Coffee is a fragile product that may stale very fast. From the very first minute after roasting it starts growing "old". First the aroma freshness decreases and coffee becomes rather rancid because it loses the volatile components released during roasting. These volatile substances form the magic aroma of coffee being one of the main characteristics of roast coffee. The other reason leading to coffee staling is the loss of carbon dioxide and absorbing of oxygen and moisture by coffee. Exposed to the normal atmospheric conditions with the moisture content of 50% the ground coffee grows completely stale within 7-8 days.
Thus, to remain fresh coffee must be protected from the contact with air, in other words, packed in vacuum packaging. At the moment there is only one place in Russia where this process has been mastered - the coffee plant of Orimi Trade Company. The coffee is packed in special vacuum packs there.
A vacuum pack with ground coffee looks like a hard brick that, however, becomes soft as soon as you open it and let the air in. In such packaging coffee is guaranteed to remain fresh for many months. After opening the vacuum pack is better to store in a refrigerator - coffee will keep its freshness longer.
